QR Code Generator
QR codes connect print to the web: menus, flyers, packaging and business cards. Enter any link or text, and this tool generates a scannable QR code right in your browser, ready to download as a PNG image.

How it works
A QR code stores data in a grid of black and white modules, read by phone cameras from almost any angle. This generator encodes your text with a compact open-source QR library (qrcode-generator by Kazuhiko Arase, MIT license) that is bundled with the tool, so it runs entirely in your browser with no uploads and no external requests. The encoder picks the smallest QR version that fits your content, applies Reed-Solomon error correction at level M (recovering up to roughly 15 percent of a damaged code), and masks the pattern for reliable scanning. Shorter content makes a simpler grid that scans from farther away and at smaller sizes, which is why short URLs outperform long paragraphs. The downloadable PNG includes the standard quiet zone, the blank border scanners need to locate the code, so do not crop it when placing the image in a design. For print, keep the code at least about 2 cm wide, maintain strong contrast (dark modules on a light background), and always test-scan the final printed piece before distributing it.
Frequently asked questions
How much text fits in a QR code?
Keep the content short. A URL under about 100 characters produces a simple code that scans reliably even when printed small; long text makes a dense code that needs a bigger print size.
How do I print my QR code?
Use the download button to save the PNG, then insert it into documents, flyers or labels. Print at least 2 cm (about 0.8 in) wide and test-scan before a big print run.
What error correction level is used?
Error level M recovers up to about 15 percent of the code if it is smudged or partly covered, a good default balance between resilience and density.
Does it work offline or privately?
Yes. The code is generated on your device with a small built-in library. No text you enter is uploaded, and the tool works even on an intranet.
