How it works
Different contexts demand different cases, and retyping is error-prone. This converter generates nine forms at once. UPPER CASE and lower case transform every letter. Title Case capitalizes the first letter of each word, the style used for headlines and book titles. Sentence case capitalizes the first letter after each sentence-ending punctuation mark and lowercases the rest. The programming cases treat your text as a sequence of words: camelCase removes spaces and capitalizes every word except the first (standard for JavaScript variables), PascalCase capitalizes the first word as well (standard for class names), snake_case joins words with underscores (Python and database columns), kebab-case joins with hyphens (URLs and CSS class names), and CONSTANT_CASE uses uppercase with underscores (constants and environment variables). Numbers stay attached to their word, and extra punctuation is treated as a word separator in the programming cases. Because the conversions are lossy in small ways (original capitalization inside words is discarded), keep your source text if you need the exact original later. Like every tool in this hub, the conversion happens locally in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?
camelCase starts lowercase and capitalizes each following word (myVariableName). PascalCase capitalizes the first word too (MyClassName).
Title case vs sentence case: which do I need?
Title case capitalizes the first letter of every major word. Sentence case capitalizes only the first letter of each sentence and proper nouns.
When is snake_case used instead of kebab-case?
snake_case joins lowercase words with underscores (database columns, Python), while kebab-case uses hyphens (URLs, CSS classes).
Is the text uploaded anywhere?
No. Case conversion happens entirely in your browser, so anything you paste stays on your device.
